Are you dealing with social anxiety? At Life Resolutions, we know that anxiety is tough, and it can seriously impact your daily life.

Our Principal Psychologist, Mary Magalotti, is here with some simple tips and advice to help you manage each day.

Tips and Tricks from Mary Magalotti

Practice Breathing Exercises – When you experience anxiety, your breathing and heartrate quickens. Try to control your breathing with deep, steady breaths. This will also lower your heartrate, and help you stay calm.

Reframe Your Thoughts – When anxiety creeps in, try to recognise your negative thoughts for what they are – that is, your own perception, and not necessarily reality. Take a moment to acknowledge these thoughts, then move on.

Use Your Senses – Take the time to count one thing you can see, one thing you can hear, and one thing you can smell. This is called grounding and can help you refocus on the world around you, rather than your anxiety.
