Even when things are going well, it’s still important to pay attention to your mental health. Life Resolutions Principal Psychologist, Mary Magalotti, offers some simple tips you can practice everyday to ensure you stay healthy and well.

Simple Wellbeing Tips from Psychologist Mary Magalotti

Check in: If you’re having a rough day, don’t just ignore the problem and try to power through. Instead, take a moment to check in with yourself – acknowledge and assess your feelings, while continuing to stay positive.

Look after your body: Physical health and mental health are deeply entwined. Take care of your body by nourishing it with healthy meals and try to enjoy some exercise every day. Remember, you don’t have to run a marathon! Taking a brisk walk or doing some stretches is enough to boost endorphins.

Make time to unwind: With our increasingly busy and stressful lifestyles, you might feel you just don’t have to kick back. However, research shows that doing something you enjoy, like practicing a favourite hobby, or spending time with friends, is a great indicator for continued wellbeing.
